Rebecca Tseng Smith

Rebecca Tseng Smith is the Associate Dean for External Relations at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education. Her career in development has been focused most strongly on work with generous individual donors. Rebecca has been fortunate to serve three great universities: Stanford, Harvard and Cornell. She joined the Stanford development program in 1998 as a major gift officer for southern California and moved to the Graduate School of Education in 2005. Rebecca teaches regularly on the subject of individually-focused fundraising, occasionally as a consultant to development programs at other universities and more often as a faculty member for the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). She earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature and a master’s degree in theology at Boston University. She is married to Tom Smith Tseng and lives in Redwood City.
